Ecumenical Service

The Final event before the official anniversary date was fittingly a service, held at St. John’s Church.  People from all of the church’s in the town, and children from St. John’s Primary School, gathered to give thanks and to reflect on the challenges that St. Robert’s example sets before us.  Before the service began the singing of Monastic plainsong by the St. John’s Choir created the atmosphere.  We then remembered the example of many witnesses down the ages, including St. Robert, who have shown how to live the life of a Christian in whatever era.  There were readings inspired by the life and example of St. Robert, and prayers of commitment were gathered by the children during a period of reflection.
